Description

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)  Ensures a tidy workplace in the central laboratory.  Examines and prepares samples for testing.  Carries out all physical tests and checks the test results.  Calculates and checks the test results and assists in the preparation of the reports.  Reviews final test reports as directed by the Head of material testing division.  Maintains and calibrates test equipment.  Carries out sampling, testing and non-destructive testing on site.  Provide timely, accurate service in response to the Head of material testing division requests;  Participate with the in organizing the testing activities  Control testing activities during construction projects; spot check data for errors;  Meet with inspectors, engineers, contractors, and/or developers to determine corrective action required when there are discrepancies between work done and the approved plans, specifications and standards;  Perform calculations and operate computer software;  Maintain and repair materials testing equipment as necessary;  Obtain necessary data and design pavement structural sections;  Determine whether or not street subgrade meets the specification for stability;  Evaluate tests on asphalt concrete;  Take samples of construction materials for examination or analysis in laboratories.  Assist in the development of the Quality Management System of the company  Ensures that tests are carried with integrity and accuracy and that test equipment are functioning in good condition
